Car Hits Officer; Parolee, Wife Held

January 31, 2006

A New York state parole officer was injured Tuesday morning while attempting to arrest a man who just hours earlier was freed from the Southport Correctional Facility.

The officer suffered minor injuries when the wife of the paroled inmate hit him with a vehicle as they fled a parking lot in Elmira.

The incident occurred when parole officers attempted to take Robert L. Rouille, 26, into custody at Linden Place Extension and Industrial Parkway.

A condition of his parole stipulated Rouille stay away from his wife, Jessica Adams. The two were seen together in a 1998 Ford Explorer.
