State police yesterday were continuing to investigate the death of a 32-year-old Katonah woman who was struck by a car while walking along Route 22 on Monday.
The accident happened shortly before 10 a.m. on Monday, August 29, on the southbound side of Route 22 just north of Deans Corner Road.
Police said that Eric S. Hvolbeck of Southeast, 20, was heading southbound in his 1994 Honda Civic. When he was trying to put a compact disc in his car stereo, he hit Julie D. Lambert as she was walking on the shoulder.
State police said that Julie Lambert suffered several broken bones, as well as injuries to her head and internal organs and transferred to a hospital.
Julie Lambert died at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut on Monday afternoon, said Trooper Douglas Weiller.
Eric Hvolbeck was taken to Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel, where he was treated and released.
According to Trooper Douglas Weiller, charges will be filed after completing the investigation.
