Police Seek More Witnesses To Accident

Ilion police are looking for more witnesses who may have seen a motor vehicle accident on East Main Street, where a vehicle struck and seriously injured a 12-year-old girl Wednesday afternoon.

The girl was transferred from St. Elizabeth Medical Center to University Hospital in Syracuse for serious head injuries. Ilion police are not releasing the name of the driver or the girl at the present time.

Captain Laurie DeVaul said a group of children was crossing from the south side of East Main Street to the north side, while the male driver was heading west. The accident happened just west of the Classic Car Wash.
