Alcohol And Speed Involved In Fatal Accident

Police said alcohol and speed were factors in an accident that claimed the life of a Mayfield man.
Investigators said that Michael Murphy Jr., 29, lost control of his car on Elmwood Avenue Extension in Johnstown just before 2 a.m. on Monday, November 7.
Police said the car went into a ditch, then traveled four feet across a front lawn before coming to rest against a tree.
Murphy was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger was taken to Nathan Littauer Hospital with fractures and a concussion.
