Driver Involved In Fatal Accident After Being Stabbed

January 20, 2006

A video camera recording may help police find the person who robbed a livery driver in the Bronx Sunday night, October 30, an attack that led to a fatal accident.

Cab driver Raul Juarez, 51, says a passenger stabbed and robbed him in front of 1125 University Avenue in the High Bridge section.

Immediately after being stabbed, Juarez crashed into a parked car that hit 51-year-old Rosa Roman, killing her.

The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers says because there's no partition in the livery cab, a video camera that was recording at the time of the incident may have captured a picture of the suspect.

The tape has been turned over to the police.
